This effort to establish a Code of Conduct was one of my big achievements for the City Council this year. Although it did not include everything I hoped to include (nothing ever does, of course), it is a strong starting point enshrined into the permanent rules of the City Council. My goal with this and other recent reforms to the Council rules this year was to try to leave the Council in a better place going forward on process than when I began six years ago. In future, I hope the Council will add enforcement mechanisms.
